We spent less on these categories of goods and services in the U.S. economy in September 2023

These are the personal consumption categories in the U.S. economy that we are spent less on in September 2023.

The U.S. economy grew by $59.3 billion (annualized rate) in September vs. August, which is an annualized growth of 0.38% from August personal consumption expenditures of $15.48 trillion. When we did this analysis before, very few categories were showing declines, but in September it seems the U.S. consumer, and foreigners visiting the United States are making choices to consume less.

Starting with goods, consumers spent more overall, but spent less on the following:
